The Forestry and Timber Floating Museum is situated 6 km far from Synevyr, it is the only museum of such kind in Ukraine. It was opened in 1976 and built by the Austrian engineer Ernest Klaus.

From the Carpathian forests the wood has been transported on rafting for centuries. The floating began on the River Tereblia, it continued on the River Tysa to the Great Hungarian Plain, where wood processing companies operated. Therefore dam and sluice system was built, because only in this way could solve to be enough water for the floating. The reamains of a such sluice can be seen in the museum. In the 1950s the floating was stopped, and nowadays the wood is transported by trucks.

The museum's exhibited photographs and documents give an insight into timbering providing livelihood for the local inhabitants, the transport on rafting and the adventurous and often dangerous life of the rafters.

Only half of the museum building is opened to the visitors, because the flood in the years 1998 and 2001 significantly damaged the building.
