In the Middle Ages the Vynogradivsky district had already had its own emblem – a Spaniard form coat of arms, wrapped over by oak branches with acorns. A bunch of grapes and a first is painted at the emblem top against a red background. An oak branch with acorns and a black legendary crayfish from the Bator river is below against a blue background. In the center of the emblem there is a golden lion against a red background (family emblem of the Pereni feudal lords).
